A 2008 review in the Journal of Arthritis and Rheumatism revealed six studies reporting a decrease in pain when acupuncture was used to treat subjects’ symptoms.  Five of the studies showed a reduction in ESR, which is a blood test for inflammation, and three found lower CRP rates, which is another indicator of inflammation.
